About St Augustine’s Tower Hackney

St Augustine’s Tower is the oldest building in Hackney, a surviving fragment of the original thirteenth century church, located at the centre of the ancient village. When it was built, there were fields between Hackney and London. Today, the tower offers far reaching views over the modern metropolis; to Croydon to the south, Acton to the west, Hampstead and Highgate to the north, and Epping Forest to the east.
